Stepping UP The Fashion Game

Anna Wintour once said, “There’s something about fashion that can make people very nervous” when describing the 1.7 trillion dollar industry that’s known to be one of the most fast paced and toughest to work in. Behind all the glamour and neverending search for the latest trends is the hard work of hundreds of designers, editors, make-up artists, buyers or atelier workers—keeping the fashion world turning.

Every year during Fashion Week, all eyes turn to four select metropolises around the globe, where the crowds gather to leave the short lived past behind and look towards the future. One of the four cities is London, where our friends from Dazed Magazine decided to have a closer look at the people working the fashion game to answer the question, Who works the hardest in fashion?  To uncover the answer, they styled UP a group of insiders (a makeup artist, freelance writer, event planner, editor, photographer, designer and intern) and one outsider with an UP3, hoping to gain some insight.

Life on Foot @ Design Museum

London’s Design Museum is devoted to celebrating product, industrial, graphic, fashion and architectural design. Its Life on Foot exhibition, “a creative journey into how traditional shoemaking has been shaped by contemporary design and new technologies”, premiered May 13. For the exhibit, Jawbone’s passionate data scientists built visuals to share our unique perspective on how we move in our cities and around the world.

Introducing UP2 - The Elegant Successor to UP24

UP2 – The Elegant Successor to UP24

Wearable technology is transforming dramatically. We are seeing numerous iterations of wearables, from large displays encased in plastic to watch-like technology on the wrist.  In thinking about the convergence of this technology with new form factors, we approach our design work at Jawbone uniquely, with a focus on style and all-day, 24/7 wear. To achieve this with UP2 we focused on three main priorities.

The Internet of You

The Internet of You

Ahead of the imminent hustle and bustle of CES, I wanted to share our view on the Internet of Things, as seen from our unique vantage point here at Jawbone. In the last 12 months, we’ve seen countless new products unveiled – watches, trackers, clothes, smart gadgets for the home, self-driving cars – and undoubtedly this week will reveal many more. We salute all of the innovation, as this is how new great consumer experiences are born. But it’s always important to build products and services that solve real user problems – whether people are already seeking a solution to a problem, or they discover that they can’t live without a product after it has been presented to them.
