Shannan shakes her sedentary lifestyle with UP2™
UP challenges me even when I don't feel like reaching new goals. I have not only lost 170 pounds, but I've become a mother who is going to be around for a long, long time.
I wasn't just overweight for a few years. I had been morbidly obese since the birth of my now 23-year-old daughter. She and her two younger sisters were going to lose their Mom at a very young age if I didn't change something.
In September 2014, I changed my eating habits, joined a gym, learned all about liquid protein, bought my first UP band, and had gastric bypass surgery. It was an all-in approach, but it made a world of difference. Logging food in my UP App keeps me honest and my UP team keeps me motivated even when I don't want to work out.
I've progressed from a sedentary lifestyle where I could barely walk through a store to a lifestyle where I can beat my 18-year-old daughter to the top of a mountain. UP reminds me to get away from my desk and take a walk. UP challenges me even when I don't feel like reaching new goals. I have not only lost 170 pounds and regained muscle and strength I haven't had since college, but I've become a runner, a hiker, an avid gardener, and a mother who is going to be around for a long, long time. My UP fitness band has guided me every step of the way.
