Charge Your Band

When your band is low on charge, the moon and runner icons flash simultaneously to notify you. In addition, the UP App displays a low battery icon in the upper right hand corner of your home screen. Fully charging your band should restore it to normal functionality.

Wake Your Band

When your band is responding normally, the runner or moon icon should briefly flash when you rapidly tap your band’s surface. The band will appear unresponsive if the battery is completely drained, indicating that it needs to be charged.

Sync Your Band

If the notification icon flashes randomly and the band is unresponsive—typically when your band’s battery has drained completely then recharges fully—syncing your band with the UP App generally resolves the issue.

Connect Your Band to a Charging Source

If the runner or moon icon on your band remains solidly lit, plug the charging cable—with your band connected— into a powered USB port. If the icon on your band remains lit for longer than 5 minutes, please attempt the secondary reset instructions below.

 

Troubleshooting

If the steps above were unable to resolve the issues with your band, we suggest the following actions:

Soft Reset

Performing a soft reset of your band can help resolve many issues, without deleting any of your stored data:

  1. Attach your band to the included charging cable, by aligning the magnetic pins on the charging cable with the charging ports on the band.
  2. With the band attached, plug the charging cable into a powered USB port.
  3. Wait until the three status lights on your band begin to cycle, then remove the charging cable from the USB port.
  4. Quickly plug the charging cable back into the powered USB port within 5 seconds.
  5. All three status lights should flash in unison, slowly at first, then accelerating rapidly, until all three status lights remain solidly lit for 1 second. This light pattern takes about 4-5 seconds to complete.
  6. Once all three status lights begin to cycle, the soft reset is complete.

Secondary Reset

If the issues with your band aren't resolved after performing a soft reset, or an icon on your band stays solidly lit, please attempt a secondary reset:

  1. Connect your band to the USB charging cable.
  2. Locate the small button on the side of the charging cable.
  3. Use a paperclip to press and hold the button for 3 seconds.
  4. Release the button then quickly plug the charging cable into a powered USB port.
  5. The display icons on your band should flash.
  6. Leave your band connected until fully charged, then remove it from the charging cable.
  7. Sync your band with the UP App to complete the secondary reset. 

Let Battery Drain Completely

If the icon remains solidly lit after attempting a secondary reset:

  1. Allow your band’s battery to drain until the icon turns off and the band is unresponsive.
  2. With your band attached, plug the charging cable into a powered USB port. Note that the lights on your band may take up to 5 minutes to respond.
  3. When charging, each of the three band icons cycle through, pulsing on and off.
  4. Once your band is fully charged—as indicated by a solidly lit runner icon—remove it from the charging cable.
  5. Your band should now resume expected functionality.
