Setting Up Your Tracker

Before using your UP Move, you’ll need to install your tracker’s battery then pair your tracker to the UP App via your compatible mobile device. Once paired, your UP Move will sync periodically with the UP App, automatically logging your step and sleep data.

Over time, the UP App will detect trends and offer valuable insights based on the data it collects, providing a deeper understanding of how your diet, sleep, and activity levels affect your health and well-being. 

 
 

Getting Started

To install your tracker’s battery and pair your UP Move with the UP App, you'll need the following:

  • UP Move tracker
  • Replaceable lithium battery (included)
  • Battery tool (included)
  • A compatible mobile device with internet access

Installing Your Battery

First, remove the tracker from its clip.

Use the included battery tool to twist the battery cap counterclockwise until the cap comes off.

Next, insert the included CR 2032 battery with the plus sign facing outwards.

A new battery typically lasts 4–6 months.

Replace the battery cap by lining up the dot on the cap with the dot on the left side of the tracker.

Use the battery tool to push the cap down and turn it clockwise until the dot on the cap aligns with the top dot on the tracker. You’ll feel a click when the cap is closed correctly.

Turn the tracker around to see if the device is responding. If the battery is installed properly, the perimeter lights will light up and the moon and runner icons will flash.

If your tracker is not responding, open the battery cap to confirm the battery was inserted correctly. If the orientation of your battery is correct, we recommend trying a new battery.

Lastly, press the tracker button then place your UP Move back into the clip with the runner icon at the top of the screen (as shown).

Download and Install the UP App

To begin the pairing process, download and install the UP App on your iOS device via the iTunes App Store or on your Android device via Google Play.

Once installed, open the app to sign in to your existing UP account or tap Get Started to create a new account.

 

Pair Your Tracker (New Account)

If you are new to UP, follow the instructions below:

  1. Open the UP App and tap Get Started.
  2. Next, select UP Move from the list of trackers. If you don't see UP Move listed, tap Not Seeing Your UP for further instructions.
  3. The app will now prompt you to insert your tracker's battery. If you've already inserted the battery, tap Next.
  4. To continue, press the button on your UP Move. When you see light movement on your tracker, tap Next.
  5. The app will now search for your tracker. When located, you'll be asked to press the button on your UP Move once more to pair your tracker with the UP App.
  6. Tap OK or Next to continue.
  7. Create your UP profile, as prompted, by selecting your gender, height, weight and birthdate then tap OK or Next.
  8. The app will now prompt you to customize your sleep, move and weight goals, or proceed with the suggested goals. Once finished, tap Next.
  9. Continue creating your UP profile by entering your first name, last name, email address and password you’d like associated with your UP account. You can also tap the camera icon to select a profile picture.
  10. Lastly, select the checkbox confirming that you acknowledge and agree to Jawbone’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy then tap Agree & Finish on iOS—or Submit on Android—to finish creating your UP account.

Pair Your Tracker (Existing Account)

If you already have an UP account, follow the instructions below:

  1. After signing in with your existing account, tap the band icon in the upper right hand corner of the UP App home screen.
  2. Next, tap Add a New UP. (If replacing an existing UP band, tap OK to confirm.)
  3. Select UP Move from the list of trackers. If you don't see UP Move listed, tap Not Seeing Your UP for further instructions.
  4. The app will now prompt you to insert your tracker's battery. If you've already inserted the battery, tap Next.
  5. To continue, press the button on your UP Move. When you see light movement on your tracker, tap Next.
  6. The app will now search for your tracker. When located, you'll be asked to press the button on your UP Move once more to finish pairing your tracker with the UP App.
  7. Tap OK or Next to return to the UP App.
