Tracking Sleep

When placed in sleep mode, UP tracks micro-movements to measure both the duration and quality of sleep. To help remember to track your sleep, make changing modes a part of your bedtime routine, like brushing your teeth or turning out the light.

Putting the band in sleep mode

Turn on: press and hold the button on the band until the moon flashes and the band vibrates once

Turn off: the band will automatically exit sleep mode when you awake by detecting your movement. Alternatively, you can also press and hold the moon button again to manually exit sleep mode.

Missed a sleep?

  • Sleep Recovery
    • Tap the [moon+] icon in the sleep bar on the homepage, adjust the estimated data as necessary, click the [check] button to save.
    • From the sleep summary page, scroll to the bottom and click the [moon+] icon, adjust the estimated data as necessary, click the [check] button to save.
    • You will see a prompt in your activity log asking if you were asleep at a specific time. Tap on the question to confirm you were asleep during the time offered and adjust estimated data as necessary.

It’s important to note that with this method of tracking sleep does not provide a metric for the time it took to fall asleep.

  • Manual Sleep Entry
    • To manually enter sleep without Sleep Recovery, or when the Sleep Recovery feature is not an option, select the Sleep progress bar from your Home screen and then tap the Moon icon in the top right corner.
    • Enter the time you went to bed and the time you woke up, and then save the entry by selecting the check mark in the upper right hand corner.
