Android Permissions for UP App
When installing the UP App on Android, you are prompted to accept a list of permissions that the UP App needs access to in order to work properly. Apps in the Google Play store require users to approve requested permissions before installation of the app. 

Below is a detailed summary of data and features the UP App accesses: 

UP App for UP2, UP3, UP4

Identity 

UP needs access to this data in order to share your UP activities, achievements, and Smart Coach insights through social networks, such as Twitter and Facebook. 

Contacts

UP uses information from your phone contacts to locate your friends who are also in the UP community,  making it simple to add new teammates. 

Location

Location data helps Smart Coach tailor insights specific to your region, as well as enabling food logging from local eateries. 

Photos/Media/Files

This permission gives UP access to your device's photo library, helping you personalize your profile and upload photos via the UP App. 

Camera

UP needs access to your camera so you can take photos of meals and scan food items by barcode from within the UP App. 

Bluetooth connection information

Bluetooth access is necessary for initial setup of your tracker, as well as continuous syncing of data from your tracker. 

Device ID & call information

UP uses this data to eliminate sync noise when you’re on a call. 

Wearable sensors/activity data

UP accesses your device’s motion processor to collect activity without the need for an UP tracker. This allows UP to track your steps even when your band runs out of battery or temporarily leaves your wrist.
